What it's all about
In June we spent time in both Hwa Lyan, on the east coast of Taiwan, and Tainan, in the Southern part of Taiwan, participating in crusades. In Hwa Lyan we worked with our old friends, the Book of Hope, and some new friends, the evangelistic association, in doing crusades in the public schools. This was a real "eye-opening" experience for me personally as we were in some of the poorer, smaller, school districts of Taiwan. Here the students mostly come from poor homes with little educational background. We found these kids to be very enthusiastic to hear the Gospel and to respond.
The last crusade of the week was in the community center in Gwang Fu City. The Association that we had been working with that week does an outreach at that community center every Friday night. After the crusade was over and everyone was ready to leave, three children came and asked if they could accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Even though no "official" invitation was given, they still responded to the voice of the Holy Spirit in their hearts. Terresa, the Book of Hope Director, prayed with them to accept Christ as their Savior. This is what it is all about.
